Enforcement and Compliance Summary

Apologies for the long-winded 3 part posting on enforcement issues in the commercial fishery.
However, the point needed to be demonstrated with facts that the industry has seemingly been treated very sympathetically by DFO's enforcement arm over the years. There is no other way to describe the lack the charges and warnings.
There was a senior staff change at DFO enforcement in the spring and it will be interesting to see if anything changes for this year. We'll be sure to inquire about the 2008 statistics for comparison.
