Map of fishing Area 4 Skeena

This post is for Greg who requested a visual reference to where the 300 gillnetters operate during the season.
This is a map of Statistical Area 4 and the 300 gillnetters would be spread out through the various sub-areas which are numbered.
The highest interception areas for steelhead are 4-12 and 4-15, the so-called River-Gap-Slough.
You can also see some small faint lines drawn on this map. This was the start of an exercise to show just how 300 gillnetters and their 1200 foot long nets would look on a map...but after putting a few on it became hard to scale properly and squeeze in anymore lines and the graphic began to lose its visual impact. But, the basic idea remains strong; squeezing in 300 boats and long nets into a relatively small geographic area presents a guantlet of nets for fish to try to get through.
