Seines open 16 hours, from 06:00 hours to 22:00 hours Monday July 18 in a portion of Subarea 3-3 north and east of a line that begins at Elliott Pt on Somerville Island, thence to 54 degrees 39 minutes north latitude and 130 degrees 37 minutes west longitude, thence true north to the International
Boundary, portion of 3-7 south of line from Swaine Pt. to the northern most point on Truro Island due east to Somerville Island. Min bunt mesh 70 mm. V..O.# 2011-NCSAL-17.

This seine fishery is being conducted with pink retention only and non-retention and non-possession of sockeye, chinook, chum, coho and steelhead. Fishers are required to release all chinook, chum, coho and steelhead to the water with the least possible harm.

Area 6
Seines open 16 hours from 06:00 hours to 22:00 hours Monday July 18 in Subareas 6-5 east of a line from McCreight Point on Pitt Island to Fanny Point on Campania Island, 6-6 south of a line from Cape Farewell to a boundary sign located approximately 2 nautical miles north of Gribble Creek, 6-10 north of a line from McPhee Point on Princess Royal Island to the southernmost tip of Campania Island, 6-26, 6-27, and 6-28. Min bunt mesh 70 mm. V.O.# 2011-NCSAL-18.

This seine fishery is being conducted with pink and sockeye retention only and non-retention and non-possession of chinook, chum, coho and steelhead. Fishers are required to release all chinook, chum,coho and steelhead to the water with the least possible harm.

NOTICE TO ALL SEINE FISHERS:

Attention the commercial fishing fleet in the Prince Rupert Area. Please stand by on channel 78A for a special announcement on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 0900. DFO, Fish Safe, fishermen and local fishing companies and the UFAWU have organized a fleet wide drills event to start at 1100.

Fishers are reminded when moving between areas that they must always offload prior to fishing in the area they are moving to.

Fishery Officers will be monitoring fishing areas, and violators can expect to be charged.

Observers are an integral part to this fishery and vessels may be requested to take an observer as per their license conditions

Brailing and sorting your catch prior to placing fish in the hold is mandatory. Operating revival boxes are also mandatory, and may be used to revive fish prior to release. Seine operators are reminded that there is a non-retention regulation for coho, chum, Chinook, and steelhead in effect for all areas.
