This is an Individual Transferable Quota fishery. The aggregate seine quota for this week is 32,400 sockeye salmon.  The individual transferable quota share of sockeye is 0.9259% (e.g. 1/108 licenses).  This equates to 300 sockeye per licence for this first fishing period.
Catch validation is mandatory and individual license holders will be required to make their own arrangements with the salmon offload observer service provider authorized by the Department which is JO Thomas and Associates.  The contact number to arrange registration and validation is (250) 627-2646 or (888) 624-2646 Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm.

Rules for quota transfer and other specifics for this demonstration fishery is published in a previous Fishery Notice and also attached to the reallocation forms.  For further information, please review your 2011/2012 Conditions of License.

During the period of this seine fishery, Area 4 may open to a gill net fishery.
When this happens, seines are requested to move out of 4-12 and 4-15 to avoid the main concentration of gill net vessels.
