Interesting to look at the Tyee Index for today (Wed. 16th) and see a fairly substantial drop in the daily numbers. By coincidence, there was an opening in Area 4 on Tuesday where 282 gillnetters caught 27,879 sockeye. In case you think the two arent related just look at the longterm graph above to get an idea of when they fish versus the drops in steelhead numbers at Tyee. The red bars are numbers of gillnetters and the yellow is steelhead numbers. They follow an interesting pattern of cause and effect dont you think: they fish....steelhead numbers drop...

You are correct, the Steelhead got wiped out on the 16th, same will probably happen on the 17th!
